32 Commonwealth | Welcoming Spring in Boston Painting
32 Commonwealth is a painting inspired by a walk through Boston in early spring when the city was just waking up from winter, and the first signs of spring start appearing against the city’s historic brownstones.
I was especially drawn to the bright yellow daffodils paired with the purples and blues of winter pansies, along with the graceful structure of the pussy willows gathered beside the doorway. The arrangement felt both elegant and hopeful — a lively celebration of a new season to come!
In New England, spring does not always arrive quickly. Winter often lingers longer than we expect. But seeing homes warmly and joyfully welcoming the season with fresh flowers and color always feels enlivening and full of anticipation for the next season to arrive!
