The Red Cottage | New Hampshire Cottage Painting of Home & Memory
The Red Cottage
There’s something about a little red cottage tucked into a New Hampshire landscape that feels instantly familiar—a quiet place that makes you think of home, simpler relaxing days, and memories held close.
I painted The Red Cottage from a photograph that caught my attention during a painting class. I didn’t know the cottage, its history, or the people who had once called it their own. I simply loved the scene and wanted to paint it.
It wasn’t until much later that I discovered this little cottage had a story of its own—and that somehow, my painting had found its way to someone with a very personal connection to it.
Sometimes a painting finds the person it is supposed to be with.
